Default 1952 Topps Mantle....authentic or fake

Need a little help from the pros! I can spot a fake jordan from a mile away, but not certain on vintage. Looking to possibly pick-up this Mantle....what are the tell-tale signs I should be on the lookout for? Thanks in advance!

If it is more than the cost of the screw down you might want to pass on this purchase.

I hate giving advice to new guys as I can't help but think sometimes they are just scammers/card doctors just looking for advice on how to better their fakes.

Not saying you're one, OP, but this happens a lot on here, imo, as once advice is given as to what is all wrong, they are never heard from again.

If you really want to know, there is lots of info out there on what makes a fake Mantle different than a real one. Just google it.

I don’t think I have ever opined on one of these, but that one doesn’t look right at all. ETA, it has the same look as those T206 Ty Cobb counterfeits/reprints.

Start here, although you don't really even need to get this far because the color and whole look of it is so wrong.

It's got the David Ferrie look about it...

The coloring is completely off. Haven’t even looked at the details on it for other red flags but this just jumps out as being fake. Do yourself a favor and don’t buy a 52 Topps Mantle unless it’s already graded by a reputable company. With the exception of Al and Irv, I’m not sure I’ve ever seen an authentic copy that wasn’t graded—it’s the same reason you’d probably advise us not to buy a raw Jordan.

Here's my 52T Mantle for comparison. The background color is bluish-green.

The background color of the card you posted is "blue"....which indicates it's a re-print of some sort.

Furthermore, the skin tone color is totally off. And, the bat color is not a bright yellow. I could continue pointing out more flaws, but by now you should get the point.

Something I never noticed before, and that is the black shadow/mark on Mick's bat near the middle left border.
In your link, and it could just be the scan, but in the Type 1 it shows no shadow or mark extended as it does in my Type 1 or like it shows in the Type 2 photo?

Same goes for this PSA 10. Just the upper black mark on the bat but no shadowing or extension of the black mark/shadow??
