Default Very Fake E93 on ebay with lots of bids....

Please don't bid on this one...(and no I won't either )

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1910-E93-Sta...item4ad40ec8d2

Pro used to not grade so many fakes but lately I have seen some fakes in their holders, including this one. Thanks to a board member for sending me an email asking to post about it.

Default Koufax

Same seller has a 57 Koufax listed in a PRO holder which is receiving some bids too. While the quality of the picture isn't great and I can't point to anything specific (and I'm certainly no expert), something about it definitely looks wrong to me.

Leon, I saw this listing when I did my 'Bay scroll this morning. I dismissed as a replica (Who would slab a Cobb with PRO?) It didn't look "right" to me. However, I could not tell someone why. What specifically points to a fake, in your eyes?

i'm also aware of the scam where shady people buy cards and then swap out the cards with very convincing fakes or replica cards, so due to that issue, I will not accept returns. ALL SALES FINAL!

Can you say HUGE red flag! Good find. I would question the rose too. Not for any particular reason other than that it is a hugely counterfieted.

Callou2131,

My question/statement to the seller would go something like this; PRO is a horrible grading company and you know this because you say so in your listing. My problem with the card is not that somebody might switch a fake card for a real card after they buy it but that the card is FAKE to begin with. If you KNOW PRO is a horrible company and you are so SURE that your cards are real then 1) why not submit them to PSA or SGC and 2) why do you have a NO RETURNS policy on these cards?

For me it's not just one thing. It is almost always (as in this case too) the combined issues. The borders aren't white the way they should be, the image isn't crisp enough, the corners are artificially rounded. It's in a Pro holder and it has extraordinary centering for the issue. Put them all together and you have "Yucky".....

Yup! As I said, it looks shady to me. After this many years in the hobby, I listen to my gut. I arrived at the same conclusion without putting my finger on an individual, specific problem.....and PRO sure as heck doesn't quiet the gut, now does it?

Probably the first PRO-holdered card that I've seen not graded at least near mint 7.
