Lets see if the board can complete this type collection. Everyone posts a scan of one of the cards below, ONE card/scan per person. There's alotta tough sets down there, think we can do it? |

Elliot, I have the 1903 W601 showing Ed Barrow as the manager. I can't tell from your scan, but is he with the Toronto team as well? As the manager? |

This may be a stupid questions, but with the same image and font of the Chance in the T206 set, why isn't this card considered a T206 with Red Cross back? |

They are like the t213 Coupon cards. They use the same images as the t206 set, but they were issued at a later time and team changes were made. Alwso note, the back says "100 designs". |

I'd be surprised if there were 40 people that post on this site that each have a different rare type from the above list. Still, it will be fun to see the result. |

I added a few Cuban issues there at the bottom so that Ryan, Kenny, Andy, or whomever can get in the mix here. I'm tempted to add some more crazy rare stuff like "A fan for a fan" or something like that, but nahhh...I actually believe we can complete this list as it is! Keep em coming guys, I know you have them |

I could have SWORN I saw the "BASEBALL SMURF" listed on the first post, but I don't see it anymore. Did someone remove it from the listing? Regardless, here is my scan. All I can offer to this topic: |

The Baseball Smurf actually came attached to a plastic island of grass, out of which came a ballpoint pen shaped like a baseball bat, if I remember correctly. I, too, removed Baseball Smurf from his pen island home as a wee child. |

Just because Tom cheated and posted 2 cards and this is the only card in my collection that qualifies, here is my Colgan red boarder of Tris Speaker. Thanks to Julie for selling this gem to me The card is much sharper than the scan. My scanner hates slabbed cards. Haven't been able to figure out any way to change the focal point for the scanner so that slabbed cards will scan in focus. Never had this problem with my old scanner. |

How about this: if we don't get 4-5 cards closer to the goal by this time tomorrow, we'll suspend the rule. Pretty much defeats the purpose of the original post (leon probably could have completed the list with his collection alone) but it would be nice to see the list complete. |

I am still missing several from the list as I just haven't seen what I wanted (at the price I wanted to pay) or didn't have the resources when I did see them. Oh well....just glad I got in several years ago and not now.....Also, I am fairly much of a "purist" of what I collect. Mainly type "cards" (let's don't go for the definition please) and NO cdv's, foreign issues, tickets , cabinets, or very many silks (though I have a few S74's). I might pick some of those types up inadvertantly but not usually (so far) on purpose. So there are several on this list I would not normally have....plus I would think there are several other collectors on the board that could fill these gaps...Dan M. or JC could, most likely.......later |

Why are we neglecting so many 19th century issues? I have looked quickly but I didn't see 4 Base Hit, K-Bat, K-Bat NY, Hancock Clothing, two other S.F. Hess, Just So, etc. |

Jay, I was looking to make a list that the forum could have a realistic chance at completing. With Just So, 4BH, SF Hess etc, we'd pretty much be throwing that chance out the window. However, once we complete the current list (or give up trying), I'd be happy to see you post scans of those issues here! Or perhaps we could to a type collection part II? |
