Default Great book for T206 collectors

Just finished "Crazy '08" by Cait Murphy, recounting the Cubs' last World Championship and the exciting pennant races and pitching duels that led up to it. There is a ton of color on the various players, particularly Cubs/Giants/Pirates/Tigers/Naps/Chisox. This was a great read and really brings the players on the tobacco cards to life.

I agree - Cait did a nice job with this. Even coming from a Cubs fan, Celebrant is better though.

If you like that one, you've got to check out The Unforgettable Season by GH Fleming ... the story of that amazing year told through actual newspaper clippings of the day. I think it's now out of print, but well-worth finding.

An absolutely amazing read... I'm reading it again (I'm traveling in Vietnam at the moment)... thanks to the amazing generosity of our very own Sean Costello, who graciously sent me a copy of the book... something I can't thank him enough for...

which reminds me... I've got to thank him again.

I found the way they wrote back then made this tough to read at first. Once I got used to it, it was an AMAZING read

Of course, the absolute must read for T206 collectors is The Glory of Their Times.

Hi, I'm reading it right now, for the second time. I borrowed it from the library. It's a great read from a great season 1908.
