Default 1921 Oxford E253

I'm looking to pick one up and I've seen both sepia and black and white versions on the market. Can members more versed than me educate me on the set?
Thank you in advance.

Phil, do you mean the 1921 Oxford Confectionery? E253?

This was copied from Old Cardboard (the card is mine). I am pretty sure there are some ties to other candy companies, by Oxford Confections. PA was a big candy making place back in the day..(*and probably still is)

Set Summary
Produced by Oxford Confectionery Company of Oxford, PA
Sepia-toned cards with lithographed black and white images
Borderless cards printed on thin paper stock
Player's name and team printed over white panel at bottom
Unnumbered set with player checklist printed on backs

There seems to be a distinct color difference between these two cards, also the font on the sepia looks thinner/more crisp. These are both graded cards. The one one the left seems a closer match your Cobb Leon.

Default #10 Walter Johnson

This is the only one I have. In 1921 Walter was (one of) the most famous pitchers in baseball and had been for 10 years. So, of course, they show him batting.

There definitely are different levels of toning on the cards, though I don't recall there ever being separate classifications made. Here's my ugly Cobb. As you can see compared to Leon's, mine is a bit darker.
