At work tonight, it dawned on me that my brother's (that bowlingshoedork) birthday is coming up on Sept 1st. I thought it might be a neat idea to know when people's Bdays are so we can wish them a happy one since we are some-what family and definately friends here.

Mine is Oct 9th

And belated Happy Bday to all you August babies.

Jay

My place is full of valuable, worthless junk.

Cmon Tom,you have a good start to a pitching staff! Guidry and Mike Torrez, plus a great defensive centerfielder with speed in Darren Lewis(he started his career with over 300 games without making an error in CF)....happy birthday 2 days early too!

Anson has some decent players,Toby Harrah,Snuffy Stirnweiss,Kid Gleason,Dick Hoblitzel,Tommy Griffith...those arent everyday bums

of course April 2nd with the 4 HOF'ers is still the day to beat

June 12, with noted baseball players sharing the date being: Klesko, Matsui, Damon Buford (whoever those 3 are), with vintage Bill Foster, Matty McIntyre, Otto Knabe, and Red Dooin and finally with college ringer and Eli George W. at 1B,

Max

Edited to add: I remember (somewhat) from math class that if there are 32 people or so in a list, the odds are over 90% that two in the list share the same birthday. Of course, statistically, it won't hit 100% until 367 people were in the list (noting that Lena Blackburne and Rebel Oakes were both born on February 29--another point sure to drive Rebel cards up further in price).

April 17th. I share my birthday with Cap Anson and Alexander Cartwright. Not too shabby. I was also born on the exact same day and year as Marquis Grissom. Having a birthday in mid April also means that a lot of stadiums were opened on my birthday. Shea, Oakland-Alameda, etc...Also on April 17th 1956 Mickey Mantle hit two homeruns in one game that measured over 500 feet each.

July 9th - I have a who's who of really nobody on my list.

Pre-war:
Buck Herzog
Jack Powell
Dave Shean

The great and "allegedly" innocent OJ Simpson, Tom Hanks, and Fred Savage also share the same day.

Bill

My son shares a birthday with Babe Ruth - Feb 6th...now that's pretty cool!
My soon to be second child (Feb 26th) shares with Pete (GC) Alexander.

Mine's coming up soon: Sept. 4.

Not too many big baseball names share my birthday:

Mike Piazza, Doyle Alexander, Frank White and the immortal Sun-woo Kim.

I am, however, quite excited to find out that in the celebrity world Beyonce Knowles shares my birthday. And even more exciting, Paul Harvey and Henry Ford.

As a birthday gift, I'll take any T206's you have lying around taking up space. I just started working on the set in any grade. Only 494 cards and virtually all of the HOFers to go!

You remember well about the statistics of shared birthdates.

The way I heard it framed, though, in a fully crowded elevator
(approx. 30 people) the probability that two of these people
having the same birthdate is 95% certain.

Oh well, I am not impressed with the BB players whose birthday
I have in common. So, I will be satisfied with the fact that
Walter Johnson was born the next day. He has always been my
favorite pitcher.
