Default Help with autographed ball please

Hello, I'm hoping y'all can help me with an autographed baseball. I've been helping my elderly aunt clean out some closets and I found an old baseball that her husband got when he was a kid. He passed away 10 years ago and his parent are gone as well, so there is no one I can ask about this ball. My aunt believes it is Brooklyn Dodgers as my uncle lived in Brooklyn when he received this ball. The story my aunt remembers is that my uncle's father was an exec somewhere and knew someone from the team who got the team to sign the ball because my uncle was a big Dodgers fan.
Some of the autographs are pretty faded. The ball has been kept in a sock for 65 years.
I 'think' I have deciphered two signatures which leads me to believe this is a 1954 or 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers ball, but admit I could be completely wrong. I have done some research online and realize that if she wants to sell this ball she will need to get it authenticated, but I'd like to find out if that would be worth doing. I read that y'all can probably tell me if I'm right about the ball and if its a stamped or fake. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you so much in advance!

Its taking me longer that I'd hoped to post pics. But I'm attempting to add pics of each side of the ball.

I know our first step needs to be getting a protective case for the ball...the sock just isn't enough lol

Again, thank you for any help you can give!

I can't tell on your ball, but one very common sign of a clubhouse ball from that era was the Robinson, Campy, Erskine autographs in order. I see Robinson and Campy, but can't tell if Erskine is under Campy. These were reportedly done by the clubhouse/bat boy, Charlie DiGiovanna, who became a master at signing many of the players names for those team balls. Sometimes a few of the signatures are real, mixed with Charlie's renditions. If you are looking to sell the ball, you'd almost certainly want an "expert" to render an opinion on it and if you are buying one, definitely would want someone's stamp of approval before dropping large amounts of cash for a 50s era Dodgers ball.

Google his name and read up and that might give you everything you'll need to proceed.

That is Erskine under Campy and unfortunately it looks like a Charlie D ball. To the OP I'd let those on this board render opinions on the sigas and as to whether or not to pay the $$$ to get it authenticated but it also may have some value if it is a complete Charlie D ball, given his reputation.

Default Thank you!

Thank you both for the info. I didn't know batboys used to sign balls for the players. Now I'm really wondering if its worth getting the ball looked at by an expert.

Thanks again for the information!

I would not waste the money on authenticating. It's the clubhouse version.

Still worth something, but not even close to an authentic example.
