Default September 1991 Beckett Magazine

If by some miracle someone on this board has one stashed away, could you please let me know how much a 1980 Topps Rickey Henderson rookie was going for(high and low column) at that time.

would be greatly appreciated,

George

I don't have that Beckett issue. But, I have the July 8, 1991 issue of Baseball Card News. The Henderson is listed at $175 in NM condition.

This should give you a spectrum of the hobby's values on the the card from Sept 1991:

Baseball Cards Magazine, Sept 1991 - $175
Baseball Card News, Sept 2, 1991 - $180
Baseball Hobby News, Sept 1991 - $220
Beckett Baseball Card Monthly, Sept 1991 - Low $135 - High $185
Tuff Stuff, Nov 1991 (don't have the Sept issue) - $180
Current Card Prices, Sept 1991 - $200

Had gone under. The last "issue" was a very rambling one page letter from Richie Schwarroch (sic) who was the editor/publisher of CCP in which he accused the government of making his son a "pet" and other wild theories. It's one of the few things I wish I had kept at the time. I don't know if we saved that letter at Beckett, but if we did not -- in retrospect -- it's a stunning piece of mail.

Regards
Rich
