Default Gordie Howe, stroke

Gordie Howe suffered a stroke yesterday. He is having trouble with his speech and right side of his body. He is 86 years old. Let us keep our fingers cross for this great man.
I have had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Howe on several occasions, and each time he was just a down to earth individual. Very nice man.

Second that. Gordie was a great guy to all his fans and the public. He was a little hard on the promoters at times. I really hope he pulls through, but it sounds like his family thinks this is it also.

Though I have never been a hockey fan, I know class when I see it...and Mr. Howe is all that. I wish he and his family all the best.

Update,
They have gotten him out of bed and using a walker. That man is amazing.

If you ever wanted to know if hockey players were tough in the 1950's, take a look at the photo from The Hockey News web site which shows Gordie out tuna fishing without a shirt on. Looks like he would crush any pro from this era. Also see Lou Fontinato's nose post fight with Howe. He probably wishes he would went back to the bench a little earlier.
