Default Harvard Univ. Base Ball Club

We've had these pieces for quite some time but I don't believe I've ever posted them. I just got to thinking that maybe I should in the event that others have Harvard Univ. BBC items to share, particularly if they come from the 19th Century.

This item here is a very interesting beer stein (.5 liter) with some wonderfully painted graphics of a ball player. The style and dress of the player would lead me to believe its circa 1880s.

We've also got a very cool trophy cup that I'm gonna post here in a moment.

So, any and all H.U.B.B.C. would be cool to see.

Thanks,
Jonathan

Here is that cup...

It was awarded to the Harvard Univ. Base Ball Club (HUBBC)...Fifth Prize...for Excellence In Batting in 1895. I think I'm going to try and research it a bit see if I can nail down the event or competition it was associated with.

Default A few photos

Really nice things, hope to see more.
I have somehow accumulated a number of early Harvard photos along with an assortment of 1870’s letters about Harvard baseball. Here are a few of the photos. The earliest is the 1867 team with the silver ball they won by beating the famous Lowell team and some trophy bats. I will post more team images later, but will add 2 individual cabinets of Ernst and Thayer, likely 1877-78, taken by Pach.
