I have a 1990 Topps baseball wax case. It finally might be worth more than I paid for it.

Junk wax prices for unopened are way up - not a bad time to sell if you’re looking to make space!

I'd be willing to sell some of mine, but I'd take a loss on the shipping, right?

Those are great to display! I have a few un-opened packs but never can seem to keep a box sealed. I guess I need to

Only "new" stuff.

Hard to believe the baseball boxes are 20 years old!

Months ago I uncovered about a dozen factory sealed boxes of '91 Upper Deck basketball (and a few unsealed boxes) from a case I had during my junk wax dealing days.

They were selling for $20 a box when I found them. Now the going rate is 80-100 per box.

At least that makes more sense than what people are paying for some of the other unopened wax from the era, since there are a bunch of different Jordans in it, and people are paying 300 for PSA 10s even if he's with the San Diego chicken

My baseball card dealer days lasted about 2 years. In December of 1991 I was able to purchase directly from Upper Deck. They had just raises their price from 17 to 27 a box. My allotment was 2 cases. Sold the 2 basketball cases for 40 dollars a box. For the next 2 years everything I bought from them I had to dump at a substantial loss.

Have you seen the prices on unopened boxes lately ? There are no more junk boxes and cases, even the years of the late 1980's are really going crazy.
What will be next, factory sets with "collectors" hoping for mint condition cards with no wax stains etc. Or how about promo or prototype cards of the superstars etc in which the prices seem low ?

I have some unopened boxes.

But also in my Ripken collection, I have a collection of unopened boxes that display Ripken on them.

Yes, it is very disappointing for me, since that was pretty much my favorite type of box to buy.
