Default Steely Dan, Tanglewood

Went to see Steely Dan last nite down at Tanglewood. The ride was a little hairy, ran into a semi-hurricane about an hour or so out. The show started about 8 o`clock with Becker and Fagan coupled with 3 backup singers and a larger than usual horn section ( all top notch as usual). A solid 2 hour show with no intermission that featured some of the main tunes, Reeling My old school Babylon sisters etc, and pleasing deeper cuts Gold Teeth Aja Kid Charlemaine . Fagan still sounds pretty strong but the real surprise for me was Becker. Not only was his playing unusually sharp but after years of almost never hearing him talk, last nite he was very vocal and constantly interacted with the crowd. Nice to hear and see him so active. Good crowd, nice venue if you get a chance and definetly worth the $$. Tanglewood is a little isolated but parking if free, nothing like an open-air show, and you can bring your own food/drinks etc.
