What do you guys think this is worth in the condition?

That's pretty rough on the right side, especially. Still has value.... I would estimate $200 - $250 in that state.

Just an educated guess... with pieces like this, the more the condition is compromised, the more variability to the price.

Wasnt really looking to sell it. Just wanted an idea of the value. $250..?? Theres no way, its not like these are just laying around in this condition meaning uncut, believe me Ive looked for 20 years. Ive had offers of $2,000.00 in the past. I mostly collect Cubs world series team items.

This one cost me $750... no wrinkles, creases, tears, water stains, missing paper, etc. And that was when the economy was good. I suppose there was a time that these went for $2K, but those days are past, and that would have been a Near Mint (or better) example.

I've seen many of these at auction over the years. There are a few years featured, but as Mark said, unless near mint, these rarely reach $2,000. Here are several examples from just two major auction houses, but I could fill a page with links of this and similar pieces. I love them...but they aren't particularly rare and are extremely condition sensitive. My suggestion to you would be...take the money and RUN

Yes- they're really impressive in person, too. Just enormous, and really command attention. The only down-side is the amount of wall space they require.

I think there are 4 different variations of these. Maybe some other collectors can post the other two (not seen here already...)

Editing to say that Mike H must have posted while I was writing... should have known he would be all over this! And Mike's right about that final one... far and away the rarest version (most attractive is subjective, but I would give him that as well!)

So there are all 4 "Yard" variations, with a couple extras of a slightly differnt style. Great thread!

I am curious as to where you obtained this. There was one of these that looked nearly like yours, water stains and all that was in the groundcrew room of Wrigley Field for many many years. That item seemed to grow legs during one of the many construction projects at the old ball park and was no longer seen in the crew room.

I am NOT saying you took this but I was just curious as to where you got it as it looks identical to the one that hing at Wrigley. I know Lelands sold one very similar to this and I alerted them to the potential issue and never received any communication from them. Because the one at Wrigley hung in the area where the grounds crew stored their tools and hoses etc, it did take on a bit of water over the years which appears to have happened to yours. I am not accusing....just curious as to where you got it. Thanks

OOOps sorry, Yes my comment was directed to the original poster. And once again I want to state that without a doubt I am NOT saying anything is stolen or anything like that. I am just curious as to the origin of this particular piece. I remember looking at this item at Wrigley every day for a number of years and trying to buy it off the head groundskeeper!! LOL. (I used to work for the Cubs front office!!) I am not pointing fingers or anything else. I am just curious to find out if this is the item I drooled over every day.
