I was in Thailand last month, will definitely play this month. Till then.

Thanks Steve. I was just about to post a reminder when I saw that you beat me to it. With still more than 24 hours to register, I expect that we will have at least three tables tomorrow night. The payout is to the top five players if the tournament goes to four tables, so we only need two more that last month to get to that level.

Complete information about the tournament, signing up, 2008 series prizes, current leaders, etc., can be found on the Old Cardboard website at http://www.oldcardboard.com/misc/poker/poker.asp.

Look forward to seeing everyone at the tables tomorrow night. Good luck to all.

Lyman

Just a final reminder that tournament #2 of the Old Cardboard 2008 Texas Hold'em series is now less that six hours away. All vintage baseball card collectors are invited to participate. Any questions; contact me at editor@oldcardboard.com or Steve Murray at jacklitsch@comcast.net.

With late registration, we expect at least three tables tonight. Hope to see you there.

Best of luck to all,
Lyman

I am not a vintage card collector but I am an active participant on this board.
Am I invited to play?

Certainly, Richard. We should broaden our definition to include related memorabilia, autographs, etc. Anyone who participates on this board is most welcome. --Lyman

Twenty-six vintage card collectors battled it out last night in Tournament #2 of the Old Cardboard Texas Hold'em series for 2008. After the smoke settled, Lance Galloway emerged as Tournament #2 champion and $120 in prize winnings. Trae Regan placed second (bringing in $72) and Brett Hardeman came in a consistent third with $48. Congratulations to Lance, Trae and Brett and to all who participated. It was great fun.

The Leaderboard for the 2008 Series has been updated to reflect Tournament #2 results. It can be viewed on the Old Cardboard website at http://www.oldcardboard.com/misc/poker/poker.asp.

Tournament #3 will be held on March 25 at 7:30 pm CST (8:30 EST). The PokerStars tournament ID is 78885165. Password for registration is n172n172. The lobby is now set up and ready for early registration.

Thanks again to all who participated. We will see you again in March.

It was fun!!! Bombed out early. Severly damaged by Nagurski's quad 9's.

Thanks to Nagurski's quad 9's, I didn't have to worry about Steve!

GG everyone, thanks OC as always. I'm registered for March. See ya there.

Though I would love to claim credit for the victory, I can not. I am working night shift (5:30-4:00 am) and had my beautiful and obviously extremely lucky wife Catherine sit in for me. I hope nobody was offended. Though she isn't an active member of the board, she is instrumental in supporting my hobby through all of the shipping and packaging of the cards I turn over. I can say this, I am sure my cul-de-sac didn't appriciate it....she is a screamer...when gambling! All of Biloxi knows this and now Mobile must beware! I hope I can make the next tourney!

Well, I improved over last time and think I played well especially since my only real hand was my first with pocket Aces. My 6's just did not hold up in the end against J/10. Oh well...I am happy with a top 10 finish. See everyone next time!

Steve,

I am in Baton Rouge for the next 2 months. I didn't want to let the group down when I asked her to fill in. I saw the day before there were only 9 players registered. Sorry I had turn to my "ringer"...lol. The Grand in Biloxi loves to see us come in. BTW, she now wants to play every month. Thanks for the new habit to support, guys!

She said nobody seemed to want to push the action and the cards fell her way on the flop. I can honestly say she quite surprised by the result and said she had a blast! I guess you guys will have to put up with her at least one more time to defend her "title".

I would be interested in playing in the next tourney. How do you guys fund your pokerstars accounts. I stopped after the new law prevented me from using netteller. Do we send the money to a board member to hold? I actually tried to get back on the otherday, but I couldn't find a way to fund my account that required little effort, and I lost interest....thanks..Chris

epassport.com, one of the site's recommended intermediaries, is easy to use. My credit card issuer does not charge a cash advance fee. Moreover, interest is not assessed at the cash advance rate or compounded daily. The only fee is a hard charge from epassporte, $25 for a $500 upload. Not the greatest deal, but better to me then sending a paper check overseas. There's also a first time $50 bonus from pokerstars after you've accumulated 500 play points.
