Oxford University Rowing Club foot locker?

Carlton, I thought of you and your collection and knowledge as soon as I saw this today at an antique show at the local arena.

The stencilling looked perhaps too good/too new. Any thoughts?

Dang!!...good eye!...yeah that's definitely right up my artery....and yeah you're right the stenciling does look suspect...in certain ways that is...from this vantage without being able to look it over carefully in person...the O.U. R.C. at the top looks right...it's the full designation below that looks embellished...Almost like someone got it with the O.U.R.C....somehow knew what it stood for...but wanted to make sure everyone else did too... and paid a sign maker to ad the "Oxford University Rowing Club"" in full...Actually the embellishment looks so good I wouldn't be surprised if it was once a prop in a Polo Ralph Lauren store...

I'm guessing the box is about 24" wide...I see a sticker with 425...would that be the price?...If so can you go back and ask them of they'll take $325.00 and they can keep the full designation?...it's a joke...I'm not huge on English stuff but that is pretty cool...Thanks for thinking of me and taking the shots!!
