Default 2011 topps help

I am looking for a set of 2011 topps that has the "Factory Set Limited Edition" stamp on the fronts of the cards.

I "THINK" those come in the white 65th Diamond Anniversary factory sets, but the pictures on the front of those boxes don't show stamps on the cards. and the box doesn't say "limited edition" that I can see

all the ones listed on ebay are sealed and none of the sellers seem to know what is inside.

can anyone help me so I don't waste the money on the wrong set?

thanks

thanks jim

i saw that too… it was the “mail-in” part of that description i found odd. and the fact that the boxes dont say “limited edition” or reflect the unique stamps.

i think you/we are right and it’s not exactly a crazy amount of money to find out…was just hoping someone had opens one of these suckers up

Sorry, I do not have what you need. I have the Tiffany base and traded sets from 1984 to 1991. Then I have the Tiffany like Limited Edition sets for 2000, 2001 and 2002. The 2000 and 2001 sets are sealed. The 2002 set comes in a faux leather box and is not sealed so I can access cards from it

2000

2001

2002

There were two “Limited Edition” factory sets in 2011. One could be found in stores and had the “Limited Edition” script above the name bar, but the top corner had the normal Topps foil. I have no clue what the box looked like. The other was a Topps giveaway. It had the “Limited Edition” script above the name plate and instead of the normal Topps foil in the top corner it had the Diamond Anniversary logo. These came in Red, White, and Blue boxes with a large Diamond Anniversy logo. I don’t think it says Limited Edition on the box. It might though. It’s packed away in my closet and I’m away at the in-laws for the holidays or I’d check for you. Hope that helps some.

thanks steven. that red/white/blue factory set is what i am seeing. i think that is the answer.

the cards with the “limited edition” above the name plate and the regular topps logo i thought were special insert 5pks in certain factory sets (posey and 4 other guys) and not a whole set….but i am way over my skis at this point.

and i like tommy bridges too…fan club from the eastern part of the state!

I have the Limited Edition set at home in the Topps Box that one got from the "dig", IIRC -- there was nothing special on the box to note the cards had a limited edition notation on the front.

Thanks Rich. I think everyone has the same, correct opinion...there just is nothing on the outside of the sealed sets that shows that they are "limited edition" and have that particular stamp. I think I will just bite the bullet and get one and crack it open

Mike D

once you get you Limted set...please let me know about "bricking" if any. I have always wondered how the sets hold up...the Limited, Tiffany's and even the 2011 set like I just bought. this set I just opened was fine but I know the 2002 topps I opened was pretty stuck together. I have never opened a Limited...are they the same stock as a Tiffany?

I have one of these factory sets. From what I remember, Topps had a website set up that year with a way to "collect" virtual items. The goal was to get a certain number of different virtual team rings. You could then redeem these rings for this complete factory set, which was mailed to you.

Please let us know if there are any "bricking" issues.

Opened the 2002 Topps Limited Edition (Tiffany) set today. Happy to report no bricking. Cards were in decent shape but not perfect (see scan below for a few key cards).

Cards had a bit of corner and edge wear, mostly because the fancy box/case had the cards in it without any plastic wrap or anything around, so they had some "wiggle room".

I'll probably still get a few of these graded, since the set is SO low pop, but these likely aren't 9's or 10's.

I'll be slowly selling off the commons on eBay to try to recoup some value.
