I usually have little interest in the grading controversies, as I own virtually zero graded cards, but when I saw this on Ebay I couldn't keep it to myself. |

ALL they looked at were the corners and if there were any creases. If you didn't look at the image it is a vg....reminds of the ghost images of OJ's that SGC sometimes calls excellent. You can't see the darn player but those corners are nice and there's no creases.....must be an ex.....wait, where's the player? Oh well....slab it...... |

Can you tell from the serial number if this is an old grade or a recent one? Just curious. The grade is horrible. I have PSA 1s which look EXMT next to this one! |

ok so they missed this one, but guess what, they still collected $6 to $10 grading it and graded 4 times as many cards that hour than any other grading service! |

I can't believe I'm doing this (i.e., defending PSA), but I think it's odd that the image doesn't show the edges of the case -- it is possible this is an amateur break-out/reholder job. |

I suppose you could break out a common low grade Obak from a holder, but why? The cert number comes up with the correct card - |

I know that SGC does not openly have that feature. I use a backdoor method that I won't share because SGC doesn't like the fact I figured it out. Coincidentally, I did email Scott Hersh today suggesting he do something about implementing that on the site. I am not sure if GAI does though. |

I was going to bid on it... I've never bought anything from this seller, but I've corresponded with him in the past about Jewish players/cards...he's a nice guy & was very helpful with some questions I had. |

Hey Anson, Next time send in your cards saying they are from the Mr. Z collection and you are sure to get a grade or 2 bump on your cards. |

Julie, good point, even I wouldn't want that card in my collection and my standards are pretty low. |

there are stains and there are stains. That Obak has a huge, almost oily looking stain running right down the middle of the card, obscuring the face and pretty much destroying all visual appeal of the card. Throw in paper loss by his crotch, and you've got a 1. That Joss does not suffer from any of those deficiencies, and still only got a 2. |

that Joss is a Polar Bear back, many of which have staining. I think that card is graded fine. |

I agree on the Joss, grading appears fine. But as far as the CJ, that corner is clipped and should've been rejected. Like many other board members, I've had a card or cards kicked back from SGC for lesser. |

As I've said before all companies make mistakes, it's how they handle their errors that differentiates them. Why isn't PSA and SGC buying back those two horribly graded cards? FWIW, i think the Joss is graded correctly. |

I have issues with the Clarke. However, I think the Joss is accurately graded. SGCs standards do allow for some staining with SGC 30. |

This guy must have learned how to grade from that Cooney card - ignore the card, just look at the corners. EX??? |
