This same card is on Ebay as an auction.

I don't think selling on 2 different venues is that big of a deal. It really should be communicated but whatever. I try to go with the mantra that it's not a problem unless it's a problem. I always suggest vetting out prospective trade partners on the forum. If they can't give you a few good references, please pm me (not saying anything pertaining to this member, I don't know them)

Posting a card here that's in an active auction with bids on Ebay seems quite different than cross posting a BIN listing, at least in my opinion

Default I agree.....

I agree Jesse,

The other thing is that Dave noticed it around 8pm and posted. The guy that supposedly has the card on here logged in at 11 pm or so and DID not address Dave's post about the card being in an active Ebay auction. Also, you think that what he wrote on here would mimic what was on Ebay but he talks about the tape on here and Covidd as his reason for selling. Nothing like that in the Ebay description. Caveat Emptor!

That is troubling.

Leon: Thanks for your tips as well!

Peace, Mike

Default Fraud!

I am CONVINCED that either the Ebay guy does not own the card or this guy on here does not own the card due to this simple "tell":

Ebay description: I cannot speak to why it is deemed altered as I procured it from another avid collector. Please review the photos carefully. Best offer takes it. (a few troublings things ....its the 1st and only card he has ever sold on Ebay as his 3 total feedbacks are from him buying and he also says "Best Offer takes it!" but it is an auction?!?!?!?

Ok.....now, the guy on here says as the reason it was deemed altered is due to the tape.

Simple, one of these guys may have the card......or neither has it. I hope the guy on here is telling the truth. That would suck!

Peace, Mike

The guy sent me a picture of the card in his hand (in front of a clock, for good measure) last night. He has it.

Maybe the game is to create a fake selling price point on eBay to later sell on the board or to someone down the line.

Strange to list in two place....Def as a live auction....

Also ,IMO, the card appears to have had pencil scribbled all over the front surface and then partially erased to me.

Look fellas, I posted on eBay to see if I could sell more rapidly than here. I have the card. Best offer takes it is the same thing as "highest bid wins". Maybe you have a bit too much time on your hands, or at least more so than I. Just trying to sell a card dude. Not everyone does this for a living.

I had reached a limit on eBay for the month so I couldn't list as a Buy it Now so I did an auction instead. That's whey I also posted on here for offers. Assume what you like, which people will always do anyway.

What if you get an acceptable offer here on Net54? Do you just cancel the eBay auction or wait for it to finish and sell to whoever is higher?

Thanks for the support Jarrod, or at least attempting to get to know me. I do appreciate it. It's nice to meet someone who isn't a complete skeptic or cynic on this forum. I don't believe I'm breaking any eBay rules as if I do accept any of the offers I've already received, I am allowed to end my listing early without penalty. Some may see this is as dishonest, but I'm playing by the rules. It's not something I could or would do regularly as if I waited until January, my eBay selling limit would be reset and I could list as a buy it now. Unfortunately, some people can't put aside pre-judgement and realize that someone may be hard up for cash or in a situation that isn't entirely fair or even their fault. So, thank you again for not judging and being impartial in your interest in my item. If anyone is actually interested in making an offer, please DM me. Thanks everyone.

I will be ending the auction early. I will give the highest bidder at that time an opportunity to match the selling offer. Thanks for your interest.

I think ending a listing early is, as you say, within the rules, but ending early and then contacting a bidder to sell at a different price off eBay might get you in trouble. In any case, it's a rule violation, so be careful with whatever you do. Good luck with the sale.

Thanks eBay police. I would be selling on eBay direct price to the eBay bidder.

I think Glenn was just trying to help you out in case you didn't know...one of the things we do on this forum is look out for others...even if we do have a lot of time on our hands. Best with the sale....

So wait, if you receive an offer on here that you like you're going to end the auction early on ebay (you will still be charged an ebay fee on that amount...whatever the high bid is at the time) and then give the high bidder on ebay a chance to match the offer you've received on Net54 (essentially selling it out from under the guy who makes you an acceptable offer on Net54?). Interesting way to conduct business

Who said I would have accepted the offer before pulling the auction? There you go with your assumptions! Maybe make an offer or stay out of my business and mind your own...

I do wish you very best of luck. It looks like there is some spirited bidding on eBay so I think you are gonna do great!

When you list something for sale in two places in the way you did people are gonna question it.

Merry Christmas to you !

Thanks

What's the back story on this? Did the buyer with '3' feedback that ran it up not pay?

Check the rule at the top of every page in bold letters. Please put your full name next to your post OR edit it out and I will edit this quote out.

This rule goes for everyone. Any questions, just ask.

As for the seller.....unless it's a problem in the end it's not my business how you do it. Just communicate well and follow through with what you do. Thanks

ps...honestly, with only 3 feedback on ebay I would still be cautious as a buyer.....I am sure you are fine but hope you understand...

Strange all-around. Based on what I'm seeing the seller and OP ended the auction early to a high bidder with a (3) feedback who at the time had an offer one bid increment above a potential buyer with (1950+) feedback. Doesn't really make much sense but whatever

You are the one with a high bidder with 18 retractions in the last 12 months. You never answered about the 3 feedback bidder from the previous auction. You are selling a card in auction on ebay and here at the same time. Whether you see it or not there is lots of shady stuff going on with your card. And your anger issues are apparent too.
This thread probably should have been shut down because it IS wrong to auction a card on ebay and try to sell it here. There aren't that many rules here but suffice it to say I don't see this being let go again on this forum. If it's a BIN that is a different story. But best case the auction and card are a train wreck. Babe wouldn't be happy!

PS....locking thread per request from OP.
