Default 52 Topps Front Color Variations

Sorting through my 52T set and ran across a color variation on the Ray Boone. One green front and the other olive, both black backs. I was oblivious to this variation and the few other front color variations within the set. I recently bought a large 52 lot and have been comparing/upgrading as I go.

I’m sure most are already aware of this variation, but figured I’d post just in case others were not aware.

There is a thread about all sorts of 1952 Topps variations including Boone, Crandall and Feller color variations.

Sorry to go OT, but that is one heck of a set....I felt like it's hammer price was a bargain 7 years ago when it sold. I wonder what this same set would bring in today's market? Two to three times what it sold for 7 years ago?

It lists 4 versions of the Boone, two different for both red and black backs

Here is an old thread. It mentions two other possible color background variants....Feller and Crandal. I have seen and have Feller cards where the horizontal front "slats" are clear or greatly faded. I have yet to see an orange Crandall, even theough it has been listed or rumoured in several publications, including the Gilkeson variations compendium, and in the H&S Super set. Anyone have one they can post...orange, not faded red
