Conner - nice baseball. Sorry for not posting much the last week. I have been incredibly busy with a variety of things.

Here are some mis cuts and print defects, some are recent pickups, some were posted a while back. I think the 69 topps and 69 All Star are new.

Some more odds and ends from a more recent vintage. I kind of like the retro 78 Donruss look.

Here are a few more miscuts and print defects. I think the 79 Topps is new, and maybe one of the 73 LL cards.

I am now out of stuff to post. I will end this thread over the next 2 weeks with my 10 favorite items in my collection, all of which were shown at some time in this thread.

In no particular order, here are some of my favorite items.

62 Topps. The first card. Someday I might try to get one in a high grade, but for now, these 2 will suffice.

It also holds sentimental value, because my wife got me the ungraded one while we were dating 28 years ago. She asked me what I wanted for Christmas, and I, knowing she knew nothing of cards said a "52 Topps Mickey Mantle". So she went to all the card shops she could find, and when she realized it was $1000 or more back then, she got me the Brock rookie. She was scared to death I'd not like it, but I told her she "Done good" and then to prove it, I married her.

Well, now that we have been married 25 years she wants me to sell everything. But I'll still keep her.

Woody Gellman worked for Topps for years. His QC was to take 2 complete Topps sets each year, and paste them into a binder. Over the years Topps Vault has been selling off these pages. Here is the 64 page, with a front and back of Lou Brock. The 63 page was on ebay a week or so ago, I was outbid, my high bid was in the $150 range.

1970. There are variations of some of them, but apparently not of Lou Brock.

There was a good discussion on them earlier in the thread in the 1970 cards.

According to sschauer's 1970-71 Dayton Daily News checklist, there was an updated Dayton Daily News Lou Brock card from the May 22, 1971 Dayton Daily News edition, but it was mistakenly numbered #80 rather than the correct #88. I have never seen the updated one, though. The original #88 Lou Brock was from the July 4, 1970 Dayton Daily News edition.

This display for autographed baseballs is unique. I am guessing 1975 based on the 4 Dodgers and Lou. Maybe they were sold in N.L. parks, and since the Dodgers won the pennant, and Lou brock Wills SB mark, they were featured? Just guessing anyway, but either way I found it on Ebay, and have never seen another.

I really liked collecting the many MSA discs from the mid to late 70's. I have all of them except for the dozens of hard to find different hand stamped Carousel discs.

Here are 2 of the toughest to find as a sample representation.

The first uses the Linnett drawings and was apparently given out as a sales sample of some sort.

The second are the cup lids, which are real tough to find.

This will be the final regular post in this thread. As I pick up some items, I may periodically update this thread, but frankly, it's harder and harder to find anything I do not have. In Topps issues, I'm missing only the 67 Punch Out, and 74 Stamp Booklet, both of which are tough. Occasionally a blank or wrong back shows up, or a severe miscut. There are probably also more promo type of items out there.

In conclusion then, here is the Transogram figure in the box, along with 2 cards cut from the box, a side tab, and a 68 Topps All Star, which is the photo used for the Transogram cards. This is probably my favorite piece, just tough to find in the box.

Thanks for following my thread.

I Like the couple of Garvey crossover items. I think i lost to you on this if you won it on ebay in the not too distant past. I also have one of those baseball displays you feature near the end of the display. i have a set of the signed baseballs that go with the promotion as well.

I have seen some of the baseballs, but don't have any. Are most of the baseballs signed by Dodgers? I assume they are from 75 due to the Dodgers winning the pennant and Brock setting the base stealing record.

On the wiffle box, I did get it on ebay, maybe a year ago. I'd never seen one before, there cannot be too many that exist.

I think I may have an order form as well for the signed balls/display. it might have a year. i'll see if I can locate it and scan it.

the box I bid on was probably a year ago. I had seen the individual small boxes all over the place, but not the larger display box that held the individual boxes. Very cool indeed, especially since i used wiffle balls as a kid. I still have the first card I got from a wiffle ball box (Frank Tanana).

Updating this thread with some items from the last 3 months.

Added the orange border Cool Papa Bell card and the Chicago Tribune archive wire photo from which the card was made. The orange border card appears to have a good signature as well.

An interesting, if perverse comment is made by Bell as to why the Cubs traded Lou Brock in 1964 in the commentary on the back of the card.

I got a couple more items scanned, and have nothing more to add for a while.

Here is a 1979 Topps 9 card panel, and a signed Hostess panel, also signed (maybe???) by Mickey Rivers and Graig Nettles, complete with Cert so they must all be good - right????? In addition there is a Paul Reuschal front/Lou Brock back 79 Topps and a 78 Kelloggs proof with blank back slabbed by Beckett.

I'm going to meet Lou this weekend at a local card show. Looking forward to it.

Default Brock

My favorite recent pickup is the '78 BB Kellogg's; very cool. Of course you can't go wrong w/a panel w/Brock in the middle....

Cool, I've never met him.

I did get to meet Al Hrabosky , The Mad Hungarian once when I was a kid at a mall signing in Peoria, Illinois.

He was nice as could be, I was expecting a grouchy, mean guy who snarled at people.
