Default Unsolicited shipping note.........

Sorry to start another shipping thread......
I've had 2-3 board members ask me to track stuff for them over the last few months that were lost or late by UPS. In some cases, unfortunately, stuff has been lost by UPS (and I'm sure FedEx and USPS).

Anyway, one thing to help your package find you if it gets lost is to put an invoice or something on the INSIDE of the package in the event that the outer label gets torn off. I don't do this often enough myself but on big $$ shipments, be sure to put who it's from and who it's to on something INSIDE the package. That'll help UPS/FedEx/USPS figure it out......

Also, for UPS/FedEx, don't put brown paper on the outside of the box. Neither wants that. It can get caught on a belt and rip off and there goes your address label. The Post Office is okay with it but same can happen there.

Sorry I can't be more help to more people but stuff happens sometimes.........okay, begin the flaming of the shipping companies....

Always put an invoice in the package and the other thing to do that really helps is to put tape over the shipping address. This will help prevent water from causing the ink to run and provide an extra level of protection to the address before it will wear away.

My place is full of valuable, worthless junk.

I'm told DHL is very good to foreign countries...

I recently won somethung from a guy in Canada, who actually wanted to wait 2 weeks to send it (Mark McCleary had same experience) until he was crossing the border on business, and could mail the stuff from the U.S. Never knew there was any problem going in our direction...

I have found Canada Post to be the absolute pits, and I know of many Canadians that unfortunately agree. I have sent packages around the world from New Jersey including Singapore, Peru, United Arab Emirates, Hungary, Australia, and all kinds of other places. Canada scares the heck out of me when I have to send up there, many lost items and empty padded envelopes with no real way of knowing what the heck happened. I have a friend from Toronto who has many items from eBay sent to Ohio and two or three times a year either picks them up or the collector from Ohio goes up to Toronto.

Canada Post does usually have a nice set up at the Toronto Expo though...
