Johnny/MRVSTR is the expert on these. He would know. I'm 100% positive he will chime in on this since these are his passion! I do admit that it does look like it is missing a pass of color, and the bottom is irregularly cut. And it has a great miscut back. Definitely not crap. But he will be able to tell you more....

DEFINITELY NOT CRAP.

I love oddball stuff. Still learning the ropes on the T206's to chime in, but looking forward to some of the expert opinions.

I certainly would have picked this up if it dropped in my lap too. Good add.

Default Red

Missing the red, plus the miscut back is interesting.

What throws me off though is that although it has an irregular bottom border, the side borders do not look trimmed. But the color looks like it's missing a pass though...

Default Bob...

GREAT PICK UP!

Brendan, you are the man! thanks for the kind words my friend.....

not a "crap" card, but a sweet miscut! unfortunately not "scrap".....

the clues...

1)although a "rough" cut on the bottom border, the card has not "extra" cardboard.... the rest of the sides are looking "factory" cut......I'm betting the dimensions are extremely close to factory, or within a 1/32 " of the standard....
a good indicator of scrap is extra real estate probably greater than 1/16 " of the standard.....or more of a "wavy" cut...

2) it "appears" to be missing a color pass, but this more of an anemic print / condition issue.....or a possible missing "buff"....( most scraps have a definitive, more obvious missing color pass)

the miscut is a starting point for a scrap "clue", but we are missing some other critical scrap criteria to put it in the scrap category...

none the less, a great little freak!!

thanks for sharing! and by no means take my word as gospel , I have been wrong before

Bob

The Wallace is missing a color pass or two, but the cut of the back is interesting when compared to this Donlin.

While there is evidence that there were different sheet layouts used in the
PD 150 printings I think the miscut Donlin came from one of the two different
plate scratch sheets that had two sets of fronts that shared the same back plate.
If that's the case then the partial miscut back on Donlin should be Mordecai
Brown (Cubs) or a slight chance it could be Kling.

http://imageevent.com/patrickr/t206p...=0&w=4&s=0&z=9

Donlin and Elberfeld have the same exact plate scratches and there is an Elberfeld that has the same exact mark on the back as the miscut Donlin.
