Default BCG grading?

I recently came across a prewar card in a BCG slab (not BCCG). What is/was their reputation? Major red flag as far as authenticity/alteration?

I would say BCG would be a red flag, yes.

Do you have a pic to share of the card in the slab?

BCG is a scam. Do not trust anything in these holders.

So, apparently BCG stands for “look, I bought a slab and put my reprint in it!”

Seems that some of their slabs mention what the card is, others like that Mantle doesn't

That Cobb was the card that prompted me to ask the question. The price was too good to be true, and the card itself doesn’t look right to me - the brown tint and the lack of corner and edge wear.

The brown tint is tea staining, if you look close, you can see the cracking lines. There is also excess tea drippings in the last “B” in Cobb

How do you know those are both the same BCG? Wonder what they would label a Dover Cracker Jack with perforations...

It looks like a cracked SGC slab with the black removed and a new flip added.

Bcg is a generic name that scammers use to load cracked cases or bought empties. It was never a real company. This is used to scam newbies due the the close similarity to Beckett’s differing initials and lines..

It’s just crap, ignore it.
