1936 Yankees ball

I am hoping you all can help me out. I am posting for a friend who inherited via parents and grandparents a 1936 Yankees team signed ball. I have not seen it, but he says it has DiMaggio and Gerhig on it. He has no interest in selling because it is a family heirloom, but is curious to know what it is worth. Any help is appreciated. I am really a card guy and don't know much about autographs.

I saw an example with light but clean sigs on a cleanish ball sell for over $2,000, and a similar go for near $3,000. If the autographs were dark (these were lightish but readable/okay), obviously the price would be higher. That was DiMaggio's rookie year, so there's high demand for that team ball.

Thanks for the feedback. Sorry for my delay. I did not have much computer access this weekend. He does not need a written estimate. He just wanted a gauge for how careful he should be with it. He values it and takes care of it. He has no interest in selling and probably will not bother insuring it.

If he's not going to insure it and from the sounds of it he's not a collector he should probably put it in a safe deposit box.

Also, it's impossible to gauge a proper value without seeing the item. Sight unseen, it's worth anywhere from $0-10,000+. There are so many contributing factors.

If it is worth that much, maybe I will suggest he insure it and put it in a safe place. Thanks for all the info and advice.

P.S. He is not really a collector. This just fell in his lap, but he is an old Yankee fan and really appreciates what he has.
