That is the word right now, can get on with phones but not other devices. I think this might be a big deal when whatever happened comes to light.

The ebay page won't come up at all. It says "site not available".

Someone says problem since 6:41 am ET--that's 3 hours plus--also some claim 4th time this month and 12th time this year---I wonder if this is beginning of end for them...sellers losing confidence?

Default ebay

Reports are flooding in that eBay is down, estimated to be the twelfth major outage eBay has experienced this year. The website IsItDownRighNow confirms problems with the site.

Wrote one EcommerceBytes reader: "Can't log into eBay. Not with any account on any browser. One comedy screen told me it was my browser settings."

Other readers reported the problem on Ecommerce EKG. "eBay main page will not load on Firefox or Google Chrome @ 6:50am EST. Can get to the community boards, but still can't get to or log into my eBay account."

And users reported the problem on the eBay discussion boards, such as a thread titled, "Anyone else having sign in issues to eBay itself?" where a user wrote: "It's suddenly either just spinning on the sign in page on FF and on IE it won't even bring up the sign in page."

It's been a tough year for eBay Marketplaces with a security breach in February and March and major site accessibility issues. On top of that, eBay's Chief Technology Officer Mark Carges has just stepped down to focus on a family matter.

Please let us know if you're having problems by indicating so on the Ecommerce EKG board and leaving a message in the comments below.

I'm on Safari and have no issues at all, I even put in a bid on an item just to test to see if everything was working and the bid went through with out issues.

Ditto - except substitute i.e. for safari.

However, I tried to delete an item from my watch list and was not allowed.

Phone app does not load Followed Searches, but that particular aspect has been extremely slow anyway since the app updated about 2 weeks ago. So- no big surprise there.

So strange, I'm going on fine with 100% no problems what so ever. I'm on an iMac running 10.9.4. Well hopefully everyone can get this fixed, after the auctions I'm bidding on tonight are over. lol

You keep saying it they're doing it intentionally. I would recommend if you have items closing with low starting bids, take them off when you can get on ebay so you don't get hosed tonight. Then when you relist, start it with a much higher opening bid.

I still have 10hrs so if they don't move I'll end them.. Question to the guys who use ebay all the time. What will ebay do if the site doesn't come back online before they end? I don't have to honor the sale but would take the risk of negative feedback from someone who might not be understanding of the site being down. Would ebay delete the negative feedback (I have 100%)

If you did that to me, I would leave negative feedback. I wouldn't expect ebay to remove it either. Cancel the item now if it worries you.

Don't ever count on eBay removing negative feedback. DSR stars, "defects", etc, maybe. Their stance is that feedback reflects whether the buyer was satisfied with the transaction or not though, and even with transactions that were never completed or were cancelled for some reason or moronic buyers who are clearly in the wrong, they feel those buyers should be allowed to voice their opinion on your permanent record.

You may be able to get them to wiggle on the other "behind the scenes" scores and ratings that aren't visible to other users, but it's about the hardest thing in the world to get them to remove something that is visible to the world like that. Especially if you first have to get them to admit that you shouldn't have to complete the transaction because eBay messed up. Pretty much impossible in that situation.

Thanks to ebay being down earlier it appears some users did not check back in or were still unable to access the site, and I "stole" a few auctions with low proxy bids on listings that ended earlier today. On the flip side, this has been a horrible day for my FP listing sales on the selling side. Hopefully consumer confidence is not damaged due to the ebay outage of earlier today.
