Default Watched "Goalie" last night (Terry Sawchuk)

Definitely an enjoyable film to check out. "Goalie" is a 2019 Canadian biographical sports film about the hockey goaltender Terry Sawchuk.

And this just arrived moments ago. I sh*t you not.

Thanks for the heads up about the movie. I never heard of it before but will definitely be checking it out.

I checked Amazon Prime, and it isn't available to us in the U.S. We get all kinds of British, Canadian, Irish, Australian stuff, and even the occasional show from Russia. But this one didn't make the cut yet. Hopefully we get it eventually.

Default Goalie Film

Found it on TUBI. Not bad, but not completely historically accurate. They showed him on the Boston Bruins with Willie O'Ree. O'Ree didn't make his debut with the Bruins until the year after Sawchuk played his last game for Boston. Also noticed a couple of players in the 1950's with modern plastic skate blades. These weren't introduced until decades later.

I watched it on TV when it came out and I didn't like it much. The actor looked nothing like Sawchuk and the ending was rushed.

The Gordie Howe movie was better. You can watch it here:
