Default T206 Cobb Bat Off - Sun Burn Variety

Even a blind grader would catch this one. Nuff said.

Why did someone pay over $400 for it?

Even the description says "1909 t206 Ty Cobb same as original card.card is a aged old reprint"

Buyer probably couldn't be bothered to read the description.

I too am curious how this sold for $400. Did two people: 1. think that this obvious fake is real, and 2. bid hundreds of dollars on an auction without reading the listing? I mean, sure, maybe there are people for whom the couple seconds it takes to read the listing are worth more than $400, but these people can also afford to pay up for a real Cobb instead of needing to bargain hunt on eBay.

Another possibility is that someone bought this hoping to re-sell it and pass it off as the real thing. But this is a BAAAD fake.

If I was an eBay seller who was selling legit modern or post war cards, I don’t think I would even try to sell a reprint, as it would taint the other listings.
