Prefer raw or graded

Curious what you guys think. I'm of to a good start with my raw set of t206's. This is my favorite page and I can't stop staring at it. My ? is how does a raw Southern leaguer worth around $100-$150 in ex condition turn into $350 in a PSA holder. Anyone that loves t206's knows a fake from a reprint. Is the extra $250 just for someone to tell you what condition it is or the shiny, stackable holder. |

Nice cards...I prefer RAW...by far...and I'm considering cracking all of my cards and putting them in binders...like I did in the old days. |

I prefer raw until it is time to sell, then I'd like to get the extra 250.00. |

WHERE DOES THE EXTRA $250 COME FROM???? There's no way a card being authenticated drives the price that much. I just don't get it. |

Steve hit the nail on the head. My thoughts exactly. I prefer to collect raw as I can display the sets better. But it is tough not to want to grade when you are going to sell since someone will pay you $250 for a $14 label. |

I really like the idea of putting cards in plastic pages, but I've seen some cards over the years that suffered paper loss as a result. But I can't stand slabs, so I keep everything in topholders, which I scan and store in safe deposit boxes ... |

Who on this board thinks that because a card is graded it isn't trimmed. How many people have sent 100 t206's to psa, had 8 returned as trimmed and resubmitted them only to see them be graded the second time. I know i have |

I collect lower grade T206's, most of which would grade in the 1 to 3 range. All of them are raw, including the 40-50 that were in slabs, except for the 4 Cobbs, Dahlen, Elberfeld, and Lundgren. I also have around 90 T205's, and all are raw except 1. |

Hmmm let me think--you know ther cards legit, it has a higher value and you can compete on the PSA Set Registry for the prestigious awards. No contest-graded. |

Also, it should be pointed out that PSA is better than SGC at grading. |

Sorry, I sold all my graded cards to start my retirement fund. Most of them were centered to the top and didn't have much border but they still got 7's. |

doug , you asked if raw or graded, where are you going now??? not to burst your bubble, but this board has gone over raw/graded, trimmed/micro trimmed, erased/ power erased, etc, get the point, at least a dozen times a year. can we stick to what do you prefer raw or graded. you like raw we get. please not another psa bashing therad....the board needs to designate 1 day a week for psa bashing. or grading bashing, whatever it may be. |

Oh please, don't mention encapsulated trimmed T206 cards and the possibility of PSA doing this... I just might bring up that collection of T206 cards that PSA graded... I should have made a new years resolution to never mention that name again... I'm doing my best not to type that name.... |

Having them graded makes them easier to sell in the future (if need be), but if I was 100% sure that I'd never have to part with them I'd prefer to have them together in a binder like what you are doing with yours. |

I'm certainly not bashing PSA. They made me a fortune. I just want to know how someone could pay so much more for a graded card |

Well this thread is quickly sliding into the muck. How about we have a tug of war at the National between the "raw" team vs the "graded" team. |
