Default 8 (or more) games within the division

The old Patrick played 7 games vs each team in the division, while the other 3 divisions had 8 games vs each team in the division.

If this season doesn’t make fans stand up and shout for more “in division” rivalry games, I don’t know what will.

Looking forward to it.

I am also looking forward to the season. The reason for my reply, though, is this:

I thoroughly enjoyed when the division and conferences were named after figures from the game's past. Patrick, Adams, Norris, and Smythe. Campbell and Wales.

Given the re-aligned divisions this year, the NHL has an opportunity to bring back those names...if only briefly. It would be a nice touch of nostalgia before time marches on and we're watching the (insert corporate name here) Cup Finals.

The Canucks against the Oilers/Flames that often? Bring it on! If the season goes, it's going to be great. Geez, a Canadian Team may even be in play for Lord Stanley!

Looks like they have already sold out the division names....maybe they can sell each round of the playoffs as well? can't wait to see who will contest the "VIAGRA NHL CHAMPIONSHIP 2ND ROUND BRACKETT tm." Also all the teams will have to wear blue versions of their kit for this round....oh wait the league already has them play in off colour versions of the uniforms, bit late on that one.

I wish net54 had a "like" button! Yup, bring back the old names, too...
