Thanks Rhys. Have you ever seen another print of this image? Before I came across this one I'd only ever seen a tight crop (and a later print at that) of it. Google 'Hal Chase Stockton' and the cropped/later print is what comes up...from a N54 post a few years ago.

Default Fenway Park Ushers Cap

Condition could be better, but a toughie to be sure so no complaints from me. Have not seen one of these offered since around 2009.

Default Warren Spahn final career win ticket stub

I finally found a neat ticket that I've been seeking for many years:

HOF Warren Spahn's final career win in game 2 of a doubleheader on 9/12/65 @ SF. Spahnnie went all 9 innings to book his final victory, win #363 which is still a ML record for a left-hander.

Giants HOF great Willie Mays also plated his 499th career HR in the same game.
This would prove to be the last complete game in Spahn's amazing career as he retired at the end of the 1965 season.
363 career wins and he fought in the Battle of the Bulge- wow!
What an amazing life...

Very cool ticket. I've always felt his career deserves much more appreciation than it has received.

Cool ticket Scott, Spahn was one tough hombre. I remember reading that he was asked how many wins he thought his military service cost him. He said none. He said he was a weak and frightened pitcher prior to the battle of the Bulge. He said that experience put things in perspective for him and major league hitters no longer scared or poised a threat to him. I recognize that green background did you get that one from Lenny?

Thanks Mike! I had never heard that Spahn quote before, and it really does put life in perspective.
The ticket is, in fact, a Lenny purchase. Excellent eye, my friend.
Happy holidays!

Thanks, I definitely agree about his career.
363 wins, 22 seasons-13 of which he had 20 wins or more (wow), 2,583 K's, 2 no-hitters, one which he pitched after he turned 40, World Series Champion ain't half bad...

I couldn't pass up this Stanford Pottery Bank with the sticker and date. I'm a Tigers fan, but I love figurals and the Chief Wahoo mascot is epic!

I have been on an All Star game pin kick of late

With all my issues, thx to some amazing unforseen help from here, I got myself something not for resale right now. To some this may look like crap, but to any of us who love memorabilia from the infancy of our great game. I LOVE IT

I had a similar one from Michigan, I think from 1870s a while back. Hope to keep this one longer. Just so cool IMO

Default Chrstmas Gifts

Although my family doesn't understand my collection they always take care of me at Christmas. I have been wanting the 1960 fan for a long long time. They frequently are missing blades and the string. This one is complete This one was from my father who is responsible for my obsession with the Bucs. The Blass story ball, photo, and pennant were from my wife and kids.

Thanks Rob Tom and Scott. I hope you had a great Christmas. Items like this fan are what draws me to memorabilia. There was also a 1909 version which far exceeds my budget.

Kevin,

At first glance it appears to be James "Jake" Jones:
Bio here: http://www.baseballinwartime.com/pla...jones_jake.htm

BUT this James Jones played in the Texas League in the 1940s so unless you are 2 decades off on the baseball it is most likely not this James Jones. I'll do a little more digging......

Peace, Mike

Reasonable...I could only find one that sold and I gave the guy a fair price based on that one in Mears.

Love these currency and what's cool about this one other than it having an advertiser from out West, is that it looks to be signed from Browning.
