Default Team photos with Old Judge Players

Posted By: Max

Since I don't own one OJ (or even any 19th century card), I thought I'd list a team photo which includes some OJ players. The team is 1887 or 1888 St. Paul. The roster identification is written on the back in period writing. I think there's 3 or 4 on the team, but all the moustaches are starting to look alike.

Roster:
1.Tuckerman 2. Kemler 3. Morrisey 4. Veache 5. Pallver (?) 6.Carrol 7. Shaffer 8. Barnes (mgr) 9. Murphy 10. Reilly 11. Anderson 12. Sanders 13. Earle"

Do others have similar team photos with OJ flavor?

...but scanning an image at 300 dpi at a large size and then reducing it to 7 cm width seems to make it very clear.

(And lest I leave the impression that I actually own such a photo, it was lent to me by a close friend for posting. My 19th century inventory is limited to lots of books, but only unfortunately no such quality images.)

What did you decide about the book we discussed??

Is it available? I need to know pretty soon. Thanks!

Fantastic photo.

Interesting the variation in the shirt lacing method. Seems small Xs were most popular among this group.

How long would it take them to lace up their shirts so neatly? Photo must have been before, not after, a game.

Hm. hi res; reduce size (on the scan page or later--prob. on the scan page).
