Default Dilemma...(somebody take my money please!!)

I recently won a $750 Visa gift card from my employer for a sales campaign. It's "found" money for me and I want to buy one nice card for my vintage collection. Unfortunately, you can't use this type of card on paypal. Believe I have tried and triiiiiied! So that means no Ebay. I've looked on line at some stores but they only use Paypal as well. Does anyone know of an on line seller or a baseball card shop that I can buy from on line that takes good ole visa? This thing is burning a hole in my pocket so to speak. Thanks in advance for any help!

Default How about:

www.joesvintagesportscards.com is a great site run by quality people. They will even cut you a deal if you ask (usually). Talk to Tim or Joe.
Hope that helps!

Bill,

What a nightmare. That sure is a tough spot you are in. I'm sure we can all agree that none of us envy your situation. If you need a shoulder to cry on, I'm here for you man!

I believe Mike Wheat takes cc's on his website......http://www.mikewheatcards.com/

Kit Young has a 25% off special on his site.....http://www.kityoung.com/newinventoryspecials.php

Gar Miller takes credit cards.....http://www.baseball-cards.net//bsbl.html

Or you could wait (heaven forbid ) and take your chances on one of the auction houses. A few take credit cards (Heritage and Collect Auctions come to mind).

Lovely Day...

Default Not on Paypal? Are you sure?

I have received VISA rebate cards in the past and have been able to use them on Paypal. In my case I entered the credit card number as a new credit card and was able to work the balance down to near zero. The only problem I found was it didn't work if I tried to spend more than I had available on the card. So, that $750.01 card would fail but a $749.99 card would work just fine.

Just my experience. I would be surprised if Paypal hasn't figured out how to make money off of your situation.

Brian

I think these guys with suggestions are steering you correctly. Last card I bought not on eBay from a business was from Joe's, transaction went well. Always had good results with Wayne Varner (who hasn't been mentioned but my recollection is he used to be partnered with Wheat, http://www.wvshoeboxcards.com ), and good dealings with Mike Wheat and Kit Young, too.

How about using the visa gift card for some of your other monthly expenses like gas and groceries...freeing up the cash you would normally use to spend via paypal?

A Visa is a Visa. I'm surprised it won't work on PayPal. It should work like a Visa credit card. You may try taking it to your bank and requesting a "cash advance". However, I'm told some gift cards are restricted from cash advances. If it works, take the $$ and put it in your regular account.
