Default O/T American Card Catalog, 1961 updates from 1960 Catalog

A burning desire to know if there was an update to the 1960 American Card Catalog, before the 1967 one was finally published, led me to these Card Collector Bulletin pages. They were tucked inside my 1960 edition and I don't think I had noticed them before. So I thought I would share. As we remember, one of the Card Collector Bulletins missions was to update the ACC. I believe the last official updates would be in the 1967 ACC, published several years after Burdick's passing.

I thought I had one issued in 1965, but after digging it out, it was the 1967 printing by the Nostalgia Press.

Leon --

Buck Barker published regular updates to the 1960 ACC in Card Collector's Bulletin in the early to mid 60s, and it looks like what you have might be a photocopy of one of those. Then in 1970 Ed Broder published an ACC update covering the years 1960-1970; I think this was based on Barker's regular updates, but I haven't checked to make sure. I have the Broder update, but it's in one of my boxes in storage right now, and I would have to dig it out.

Looks like Buck Barker was keeping the ACC up to date.

I assume that this update was from 1963 or later, as several of the additions are 1963 sets.

It may be two separate updates, because the notes to the one in the second scan reference a Post cereal Roy McMillan card #183 being tough to find "this year". That card number is associated with 1961 Post and not the subsequent years.

Chris Benjamin collected all of the post 1960 ACC Updates in a pamphlet you could buy from him directly, they run basically until the end of 1971, although they can be frustratingly incomplete. Buck Barker probably did a dozen or so updates, plus some occasional comments, all in the Card Collectors Bulletin, before he pulled the plug and that's what's in the pamphlet. Kind of an under the radar thing but it can be found with a little searching.
