Nothing wrong with the quick flip but hawking your card like a carnival barker talking about "come big" is a bit disingenuous.
Put a price on it and see if it sells. Nothing wrong with that.

Took out the "come big", but I'm not going to post a price due to the fact that there is no base to go off. A PSA 8 one (which is not as rare as mine) went for $1134, and still there are people claiming they go for under $1000. On these forum sites, people just argue and post obnoxious comments if a price is too high. On the other hand, I won't list it at $1000 and have someone steal it.

Don't let facts get in the way of a good sales pitch.

I agree that it is his and he is more than welcome to list it at whatever he wants. And to not have anyone comment about his asking price. Banging on a seller for what they are asking for a card is bad form and should be avoided.
His sales pitch is a little dodgy as there are comparisons out there and ways to create a base for a price.
On a side note I have yet to understand why, many times on many card forums I frequent, no price is ever listed. I don't understand that. Out a price on it and post it for sale.
It would be nice if a set of forum selling guidelines were posted for the community to follow. It has worked well at the CGC comics marketplace.

This. The seller can do what he wants...

You guys don't do this to my threads when I try and resell (and it is pretty clear I ONLY resell), why would you do it here?

I do; however, want to add that I do agree the sales pitch is ridiculous and a little misinformation - but you can simply point that out and move on. If the seller can't price his own card then don't make him an offer and pass on it...

Suggesting someone would be stealing it at 1000 when you paid 769 two days before, and the nonsense about not knowing how to price it, are insulting. Either say taking offers or asking x.

This. We all follow the same auctions. We all have the opportunity to buy the card on the original auction, same as the flipper does. I'm all about making a profit and pricing the card how you want. But to state "go big" when most everyone seen the card just a couple of weeks ago in the Small Traditions auction is kinda silly. And noone is "stealing" that card at $1,000 - you would make a nice profit at that price range.

eBay and Small Traditions are 2 completely different sites. People on eBay pay a lot more than what auction sites fetch. Mostly due to the fact that eBay is the biggest auction site in the world. I am not trying to sell it on Small Traditions because everyone knows people on eBay will pay whatever they have to in order to get an item. A person that has no idea about Small Traditions can offer $2500 on the card not knowing what it sold for. I am going to delete the info in my original post because this is not worth the agony, as you all tarnished any chance of me selling/trading this card on this forum. Thank you to the people who have my back, and I hope the people that bashed me find more important things in their life to do than nitpick a seller on a baseball forum site.

A seller hoping to take advantage of an ignorant buyer. Best of luck!!

Well, you can edit a post or thread but I doubt you will be deleting it. However, I do have an issue with anyone talking smack in this thread. It is against the rules. Bobby started it and it kept rolling. If there is anything not understood pertaining to the rules let me know. Please refrain from posting in BST threads concerning past or future auctions, unless fraud is involved...and there wasn't any here. Again, read the rules and let me know if they need to be made more clear.

As far as using crazy jargon to sell on our forum such as L@@K...Wow...And so forth, that isn't too cool either. Leave that stuff on COMC, SCF and ebay...not here please.

Trying to deceive as to the value of a card seems something people should be allowed to comment on, in my opinion.

If you check Small Tradition's last auction, you will see this Derek Jeter POP 1 PSA sold for $1655

http://smalltraditions.com/LotDetail...1994-Collector

It is now on eBay for $7,500

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1994-DEREK-J...item232cfee7c0

So I am obviously not the only one in the world who buys from small auction sites, and trys to flip

I have no issue at all with trying to flip. My issue is with trying to do so by a misleading sales pitch, suggesting a single PSA 8 sale was the most comparable card, when in fact there were three prior sales of this very card for hundreds less, as well as many PSA 8s for substantially less than the one you touted. No need to insult people's intelligence when trying to make a profit.

Just a little excited that it went for 1135 with a lower grade thats all, didnt mean to over pitch it. In my eyes, I just don't see why it wont go for more than 1135 if it's a higher grade

I don't think everyone views BVG and PSA to be equivalent. Indeed, the prices paid for the BVG including in at least one major auction suggest otherwise. A PSA 8.5 would go for much much more.
