Default Autographed Pre-War Cards Show & Tell

Posted By: T206Collector

Thrilled to death by my latest acquisition this afternoon -- an autographed Fred Snodgrass T206 card -- I would like to see what other autographed pre-war cards are out there in Net54 Land. I know I've made this posting in the past, but it's been awhile since we've taken a look at these. I'll get things started.....

Has anyone ever come close to completing an autographed 33 Goudey set?

Does the autograph of the kid that originally owned the card count?

I like to sit outside, drink beer and yell at people. If I did this at home, I would be arrested. So, I go to baseball games and fit right in.

"Has anyone ever come close to completing an autographed 33 Goudey set?"

That would be a sight to see... one hell of an accomplishment.

I've had about 15-20 over the years, and I really wish I had held on to some of them. May have to start again... but I don't believe there are any players featured on the set that are still living. Looks like this time around it will have to be secondary market only.

How about Moe Berg, Buddy Myer, & Andy Cohen (from the 1933 Goudeys) ?

There are none living from the 1933 Goudey set, but both Linus Frey and Bill Werber from the 1934 set are still active and signing. Note the Werber card in this post and the date notation. I just saw a Cohen auto from the 1933 Goudey set sell for $250+ JSA slabbed.

I have about 15 autographed 33 Goudeys, but this is the only one I have scanned at the present. It now resides in an SGC/JSA holder.

Thought I'd bring this thread back - I really enjoy seeing these. Anyone have new additions?

I'd love to see some CJ's if anyone has them.

...I've come a long way since I acquired that Snodgrass. Feel free to visit my website to see all the signed pre-war cards I could find. My latest addition was a signed Lefty Grove rookie card. And my latest swing and miss was the signed T206 of Sam Crawford that sold for $4,700 with juice in the latest REA auction. If anyone here snagged that one, I'd love to hear from you...

I owe the Ott to a certain UPS man from Luavul who also taught me how to post my scans................finally.

Give me another year or two and I might figure out how to add an avatar!

That is the only autographed Cracker Jack I have ever seen and I would love to own it

I don't understand why there aren't more around, but that seems to be a set that no one ever got signed.

James G

Looking for 1915 Cracker Jacks and 1909-11 American Caramel E90-1.
