Default How do you price sets?

I have the hardest time selling raw sets. I like to be fair on condition but it is subjective. I don’t want a set to arrive somewhere if shipped and the buyer to be unhappy so I do include many pictures.

How to you price the sets? What do you consider? How do you find comps if you do?

I currently have two complete sets I am going to sell soon. 1966 and 1967 Topps baseball.

Here’s a few pics just so we have some pics.

You have to sell them based on your overall grade of the set. Raw sets are a tough sell unless priced right since the grading is so subjective.

Most average sets will grade out VG to VG/EX and bring a % of the accepted book value in that condition.

In the case of sets with high numbers that list much higher than the lower number commons you might price higher if the tougher high numbers are nicer overall than the low numbers. The condition of the star cards will always be a factor as well.

I generally sell ungraded VG to VG/EX sets at about a third of guide. I recently sold a VG+ to VG/EX 1953 Bowman Color set for $5000 and the book value is $15,000.

Post as many clear scans of the star cards as possible.

I am always interested in buying complete sets based on condition/price.

Good luck with the sale.

Also - this is the Vintage Memorabilia side, you could ask on the card board

I just sold a 1972 Topps set in NM condition for 1500.00, it really depends on condition and if any have sold you can compare in the same condition.

Good luck!

Jimmy
