Default Is This Babe Ruth Signature Authentic?

Hi. I am considering a purchase from a local seller. What are your opinions on this? Thanks.

Default Ruth

B and R look very to me, character spacing seems off as well... I would pass

In one of Charles Hamilton's books (can't recall which one), he noted the tendency of some forgers to add embellishment and give the signature a more flamboyant look than what is natural.

I think this would fall into that category.

Thanks, everyone, for your help. Sad to say, I won't be adding a good Ruth to my fledgling collection. :-( Happy to be saving money though. :-)

Don't be sad about not adding a Ruth to your collection ...just yet. There are plenty of good ones out there , they are just probably not going to be as cheap as this one would have been but the Babe was a prolific signer.
