Default Type Card Book??

Is there a book published that lists a vast majority of the types of cards with maybe a brief history or description?

I feel uneducated at times as beyond Goudey Bowman, Topps and some of the more popular pre war types I am not very familiar with the rest.

CLASSIC BASEBALL CARDS - The Golden Years 1886-1956.

This book wont give you written history, but will show you a large proportion of the sets made from those years in pictures, and has a picture of every single card in each set. It was printed around 1987, a really big heavy well made book, its incredible to look thru and see all these great old cards.

You might find one on Ebay or somewhere else on the net. Its a must-have really for all who love to look at old baseball cards.

Note that at the same time a book TOPPS BASEBALL CARDS - 1951 - 1985 also came out that shows every Topps set with pictures of every Topps cards from those years. I have this book too.

Between these two books, you can see a picture of a large proportion of all baseball cards made up thru 1985.
