Japanese Uniform - A long shot..
I grabbed this for $25 bucks at an antique store in Colfax, Ca. I know it's a long shot but anybody have any ideas what the heck it represents? It's an adult size and label says "Kanebo Dynamic Sportswear." Looks and feels 50's-60's
I'll make the first joke: Probably not a real good base-stealing team. Thanks, Andy |

Okay...I'm originally from japan so I'll give it a shot... I can tell you the Kanebo label represents Kanebo Ltd which is a company most famous for making women's cosmetics but also is involved in manufacturing clothing and food items. It's possible that it was made for a club team...possibly a company league for employees. Japanese baseball also have company sponsored teams that competes in leagues...but those are at a higher level and would have the actual company name on the log. Can't make out the character on the sleeve...is there anything else on the back side?

Hmmm...that's a last name on the sleeve "Yoshimatsu"...mystery deepens..typically Japanese teams have their team name first or last or logo written on the sleeve...

Nice the play at the plate has a caption "see saw game." They remind me of the Japanese menko cards that I used to flip as kids... just like here...the ones who accumulated the most were the envy of the neighborhood!

Ricky: No offense intended by the Rap Reiplinger "Japanese Roll Call". I lived out in Hawaii a long time and every race teased each other but got along just fine.
P.S. I have another half-dozen or so of those old menkos plus a handful of Japanese type cards from the thirties through the sixties. I might just start a "Show us your Japanese baseball cards" thread on the main forum so we can see what everybody has got. |

Just noticed this thread - hopefully our experts here might be able to help with a somewhat similar jersey I have.
I have probably owned this one for 20 years or so - honestly don't know much about it. I actually put it on eBay last month, and was surprised not to get even a $20 bid on it. Any help on team, or the symbols on the sleeve? Thanks, Scott |

I just wanted to give this one bump, in case anyone may have missed it who might be able to provide any help with the "Amimono" jersey I posted above. Thanks!
