Default Interesting pre war cards a new collector might not know about

With all the newer collectors joining recently, what are some cool pre war cards or collectibles that a new collector has probably not seen before? Post a picture and if you can give a little info.

Until recently I never knew the 1907 Winthrop moving picture postcards existed. Unfortunately, I know nothing more about them

Not mine

I remember reading on an older forum when someone posted an odd blue caption O'Hara. Neat cards.

1910 "Blue Caption" Set

That's my understanding which I think is awesome considering when these were created. Given the technology at that time, I can't imagine how difficult these were to create.

Yeap, those are cool. I got mine (right below) from Ron Vitr0 quite a few years ago, at a National.

I have them on my site as E-Unc- 1910s, Nadja-Like caramel cards.

And an interesting set that rarely gets talked about is the E221 Bishops Chocolate PCL team cards. If nothing else they have neat lithography/printing and are quite colorful, similar to the other Bishops sets in that respect...(and I am understanding of some anomalies, they keep it fun)

I love those moving PCs, here's a link for two more at old cardboard.

Anyone know if one has sold at auction?

From the circa 1905 B.J. Falk New York Giants cabinet card set. Falk was the name of the photographer. To give due credit, I got this image from the Hauls of Shame site.

Jlighter, I've only been able to track down the sale of 2 of the winthrop's, both sold by Lipset within the last 5 years. Brown. McGinnity

Leon, the e221's were the second set I was thinking of when I started this thread. How close are you to completing the set?

DRC, a lot of the turn of the century cabinets are really neat. I think most of them look even better in person. Thanks for posting the Falk.

I am not really close at all on the E221s. I believe there are 5 different teams and 6 different cards, but I think there is even some room for debate on those numbers. I have duplicates of the LA Team with 20 players, because I wanted a light blue colored one, so I actually only have 3 of 6 in the set. The catalogs don't indicate the 13 players LA card, and have the set listed at 5 cards. I have been told by a very experienced west coast collector that the 13 players LA card is the only one known like it. Who knows, there will probably be a stack found tomorrow.

"Hauls of Shame" was supposed to be published in 2011. Does anyone know what is causing the delay? There's plenty of recent fraudent activity to write about report I suppose (Mastro, T206 Wagner, etc.).
