Default Closing Tonight - Love of the Game Spring Premier Auction

Hi All:

Hope everybody is doing well.

Just a quick reminder that Love of the Game's Spring Premier Auction closes tonight. Extended bidding begins at 9pm Eastern, and the double OT session begins at 1 if the auction is still open.

Lots of great material in this auction. I'm particularly proud of the 19th Century selection, which is highlighted by a gorgeous 1896 Baltimore Orioles team photo, with six HOFers.

There are also a host of Old Judge Hall of Famers and rarities, including a really rare (and beautiful) "Brooklyn Mini" of Ed Greer that is pretty affordable right now.

Of course the auction features a huge assortment of signed vintage cards - hundreds of signed 1952, 1953 and 1958 Topps, including many tough ones and Hall of Famers.

If you're so inclined, you can access the auction here: https://bid.loveofthegameauctions.com/Lots/Gallery

Thanks, and good luck to our bidders and consignors!

-Al

Two wins, got smoked on a few others.

Crawford is the only graded example from PSA/SGC. It spoke to me!

I recently discovered that Jefferson Burdick and I grew up in the same small town of Central Square, NY.

He is buried in the same cemetery as many family members which is about a quarter mile from our high school. I’ll visit him next time I see him. The two catalogs above were printed in 1947 and 1953

nice win.
I passed on this and the other recent auctions to regroup. To many auctions and to many great items at the same time or to close together

Nice pick ups Don, I especially like the Altoona back HOFer (so tough)

I won these. The w601s, went for a lot more than I expected and I backed off of two. But these rarely sell and the provenance is amazing (Evan Mathis has not touched these), so I am thrilled. Now I just need another 8-9 to complete the set- another impossible mission.

Was hoping to pair the Mackey (from REA) and Cooper cards with my autographed 1932 Philadelphia Royal Giants autographed photo, but missed out on the Mackey. Grabbed the 23-24 Billiken Cooper. Was the cover bid on the 1927 Philadelphia Royal Giants photo (which was in the Gentle Giants book) RMY.

Also won a Happy Felsch (once owned by Charlie Sheen, who he played). Just need two more of the 8.

Finally, grabbed the Leon Day. Love guys that pitched and hit like Dihigo.

Thanks Kenny,

It seems a lot of these cards tend to travel within the Net54 family, if only there was a forum where members could buy, sell, and trade with each other...

Btw, shoot me a PM if you have any more Cabanas you want to move.

Another 1 of 1 graded from LOTG, although I'm guessing there are probably a couple more out there?

Some of the very nice 1891 Conly Studio Cabinets went lower than I was expecting them to.

Next time I’m out that way, I’ll meet you at Mageritaville, but I’m married with kid, so just us. You should have picked up that lot in REA with Halla, that one was nice.
