well... at least the link to your image hosting website. Would love to see some personal collections that may not be listed in the Vintage Links section.

Jeff:

I collect the earliest graded image that I can afford of each BB HOF'er. Here's my website address with more updates to come in the next couple of weeks:

http://bbhofrc.com/

You can click on any card in each photo album and it will take you to a slide show picturing all 15 cards in that album. Just do the same thing for all 3 albums per page and all 7 pages of the website.

I'm signed up with ImageEvent. The whole thing only costs about $20 a year and is much easier to edit than a regular website I once created. Since signing up, I've had a blast scanning my collection. I've learned a lot about scanning in the process. In fact, I'm now rescanning cards I scanned just six months ago because I'm getting such good image quality now ...

At the url below, feel free to browse through my problem, in its relative entirety, and I invite you to witness, electronically, the depth of my true lack of discipline, as satired in my separate page entitled "Collection Focus"

http://www.thetriple-l.com/

Since I'm here, I do also have a current For Sale page that I would invite you to browse, though there is not any vintage stuff there at the moment, and not all listings have prices or scans.

Edited to add:
Please leave a note in my Guestbook, but please...no coarse language, and as always....no wagering.

Last year, I whittled the baseball card portion of my collection down to 52 cards (under the 52 card collection directory) to coincide with my age. May 25th, I'll be adding a T205 Cobb.

Possibly the largest collection of altered and doctored cards ever displayed.

Heres a link to my site:

I think I am one of the only vintage collectors in England. I've only started with vintage cards in the last 10 months or so.

Thanks for looking at my site.

Good looking site! I'm curious if you're a native UKer or transplanted from the States. If the former, what got you started on vintage cards? Thanks.

Paul S.

I was born and have lived most of my life in England and followed football, cricket, rugby (both codes), etc growing up.

I've always loved all sports but particularly those with bats and balls - cricket and later on baseball thanks to television coverage and then the internet. Plus, I have always been a collector since childhood - comics, badges, lego, Star Wars figures, anything.....Probably drove my parents crazy at times!

I looked into collecting cricket memorabilia but its not that large or diverse a market. But I have been aware that there is a massive collecting base tied to baseball and really explored baseball cards thanks to ebay about two and a half years ago. I kind of jumped in like a headless chicken and was buying anything and everything without really thinking about what I was doing.

Now I'm a little more focused and collect a few sets including the t206 which have looks and history as key points of attraction!

Thanks for the kind words about the site!!

My favorites (ones I need for my HOF RC set) are:

Alexander Cartwright
Candy Cummings (if it was a card, of course)
Pud Galvin
Bid McPhee (if it was in one piece, of course)
Bill McGowan
Sol White

You don't want to part with any of these, do you?

Great Collection with a variety of all types!!!

Phil Garry,

Thanks for the kind words. I'm sure I've said this before, but your rookie set rocks! Especially, those Negro Leaguers! I'm not gonna unload any of my cards any time soon - still plugging along toward completion, ya know. Quite the adventure.

There are some incredible cards in some of these collections.

Al - I like the idea of limiting a collection to 50 cards. Not sure I could do it though right now.

Keith - Wow - you have some incredible cards!

Jason: Really like your site's layout. Not bad for a rotting shack amoeba!

Keith: I was pleased to see my old D304 Kelly survived the cut. It's in pretty fast company. Great cards, buddy.

Rest of you guys: Some great stuff and a real inspiration to get off the ol' backside and put some scans on the web myself. Maybe one of these days . . ? Thanks to all of you for sharing.

As a few others have said, imageevent.com is a great way for web-design novices like myself to build a decent hobby site. I've found it well worth the $25 annual fee - not just for sharing scans of my cards but for reducing my reliance on eBay.

It's so much fun to look at all of your collections - it's like being in a museum.

Phil, yes, that's the Collins cab from the Hunt auction. A couple of 54 members helped point out the provenance of that one.

And Martin, if the 50-card thing was the ONLY thing I was doing, I wouldn't be able to do it, either. I find all sorts of ways to cheat. I actually started a T206 set because of it.

Thanks to this thread I went to work on my own photo-sharing site. I liked the ImageEvent layout the best so went with them. Very easy to use, upload, edit etc. Still was a lot of work with all the scanning. I didn't post all of my collection. Too much scanning. But I have posted my D304, T3 and '33 Goudey sets plus various single cards. I also made an album of photos I took at several baseball related exhibits I visited last fall including the Burdick collection at the Met and the Hall of Fame. Have a look!

Jeff: There's a few other beauts in my "BBHoF: The First Class" album. Otherwise that's it. No T206 Wagner, no '52 Mantle, nary a 19th century card, nothing over a six and no secret stash of "ultra high grade pre-War baseball cards". I have a few other sets I will eventually post once I can face the scanner again but they are of the beater-ish sort. But, yeah, that W600 is a humdinger. Figured it was as close as I'd ever get to the Alpha Engraving McGraw.

Here's my Vintage Collection:

http://s154.photobucket.com/albums/s280/chromerookies/

my buying vintage has slowed down heavily due to the fact that I'm in the process right now of trying to get each living HOFer's Auto on their R.C, so my focus is really on that right now, which hasn't allowed me the extra funds to put toward vintage,

hope you all like,
Dan
