Hake’s Americana & Collectibles Auction #205 Now Online And Open For Bidding at www.hakes.com.

Since 1967 Hake's has been the premier source for Pop Culture and Americana and in recent years have offered some of the rarest and most sought after baseball items including those pertaining to the Cuban and Negro Leagues.

The current auction is once again highlighted by baseball items from the Richard Merkin Collection. Last auction, items from this collection brought record prices, including a 1910 Punch Pete Hill card at $64,936 and a 1937 Ciudad Trujillo team photo w/Josh Gibson at $31,625.

Auction #205 has even more Cuban baseball cards, designated by SGC with “The Richard Merkin” pedigree. These include 1910 Punch John Henry Lloyd, Alfredo Cabrera, Armando Cabanas, Armando Marsans, Claud Derrick, Germany Schaefer; 1923-24 Billiken Dobie Moore, Andy Cooper, Armando Marsans, Julio Rojo; 1923-24 Tomas Gutierrez Jose Mendez, Dave Brown, Oliver Marcelle, Clint Thomas; 1924-24 Nacionales Cristobal Torriente, Alejandro Oms, Isidro Fabre, Adolfo Luque; 1924-25 Aguiltas Biz Mackey, Dick Lundy, Valentin Dreke, 1926-27 Aguiltas Isidro Fabre, Pablo Mesa and others. Other SGC graded cards include 1916 Zeenut PCL Jimmy Claxton, 1919 Zeenut Dazzy Vance and 1932 Dobie Aguila #255 Concordia vs Cincinnati featuring Martin Dihigo.
