Default cycleback.com

Just noting that the cycleback.com website has a number of new and original informational recources on prints and photographs, some which will likely be helpful to many Network54 folks.

Includes:

GUIDE TO NEWS SERVICE PHOTOGRAPHS: Extensive guide to the identification, dating and understanding of wirephotos, press photos, Baseball Magazine archives, etc. Covers captions, stamps, etc
-- this section is not illustrated yet, but the pics should be up by Monday

IDENTIFYING AND UNDERSTANDING EARLY PHOTOGRAPHS: Details all major styles and types of photographs from 1839 to the turn of the 20th century. This includes, for example, how the shape and color of a cabinet card or cdv mount helps date the photo. How to date a stereoview by the color and design of the mount. How the size of a tintype relates to its rarity.
-- this section is not illustrated yet, but the pics should be up by Monday

AUTHENTICATION AND FORGERY DETECTION OF PRINTS (' EXAMINATION OF PRINTS') This covers the general techniques and knowledge neccesary for judging the authenticity of all forms of prints, from an original Rembrandt etching to a 1920s Babe Ruth lobby card. This mini-website is probably not for most people at Network54, but does contain some relevant articles on identification of alterations and the basic things to look for in counterfeits.
