Nice stuff, David! I'm a huge Cardinal fan myself so I always enjoy seeing Cardinal stuff.

Default Here's another St Louis one for you...

A long-time Wantlist entry finally crossed off...couldn't resist. There's actually a few disappointing hairline/spider wrinkles vertically through the middle of his head and face, but boy do you ever have to angle the card correctly in bright light to see them!

Default Unless Jason diddled the color . . .

that's the richest-looking color on a '53 Paige I've ever seen; I've always loved that card.

Default It's a good looking card...but

I did lower the brightness and increase the contrast a bit during the scanning to see if the wrinkles would show up. I'll try it again soon without any adjustments and show you how it comes out.

Default Well, this was an interesting experiment...

Here's the Paige again, this time without any adjustments at all to brightness or contrast settings on my old scanner. You can see it looks alot more washed out. But the thing is, this card in person is far more similar to the richer color, adjusted scan. Problem is, my scanner and software doesn't have any specific color, brightness, or contrast controls...just relative slides to adjust contrast and brightness...

Default Thanks, Marty...

you're right. when you hold the Paige in your hand, you would think it's a 5, easy, until you find the spider wrinkles. The true color is somewhere in between my two scans that I shared, but it is closer to the richer one. One hint that helps you tell is by the deepness of color of the red PSA flip.

And nice of you to give the compliments, but good lord, your pickups are unreal!!! congrats on all those high-end Yankees greats. fantastic stuff.
