Default January Pickups

A couple of signed, centered Mantles seem like a good way to start out the new year.

Not one I was expecting to buy, but saw it pop up on a PSA graded Facebook group for a great price and loved the color and eye appeal. Slight creasing and scratches account for the technical grade.

Thanks guys, I'm starting to get into signed vintage. Pretty cool to own a card Mantle held and signed.

Default Schmidt RC MC

Picked up on eBay from a fellow net54 member.
It just looks like the Baby Bull is trying to push Schmidt off the card

My goal is to complete the run in PSA 6 -7 with nicely centered examples, although the '52T may prove the major hurdle to that.
Have been waiting for a really nice '51B in PSA 6 for a few years now, and maybe should have settled a bit prior to the price jump.

Jesse, your Mantle run is outstanding, and I'd be fortunate to approach anything like your run for appeal and centering. Your 52T is just beyond belief!

Great 58. As to the 51, as they say, sometimes the perfect is the enemy of the good.

Thanks Jason, and yea the 51 is very tough to find centered in any grade. If you see a nice 4 or 5 it might be worth picking up until you can find your 6. It won't be hard to unload once you upgrade.

Good advice from both of you, Jesse and Peter.
I think the 51B issue comes from a 'one that got away' story involving a truly perfect PSA 5 that the seller backed out of at the last minute. After a 500 mile flight to pick it up...

Here's the run to date, only since we've been talking about it. Apologies for the mission-creep on the thread

You need a white letter, Dan Dee, and Red Heart if you are to have any self respect.

That's a great looking run. I still haven't found a red heart yet, probably because I haven't been looking very hard. I did pick up a decent dan dee a while back.

The Tip Top Snider is sweet and I'm really digging the Elston Howard. Beautiful card of a very underrated player.

Although these might not compare to ZiggerZagger's Mantles, I just got these from him in today's mail. As a result of another great transaction w ZiggerZagger, I now have a nice stack of 66's stars and commons and a really nice stack of 67's including many hi cards. Many compare condition wise to the 58.

Cesar--

Glad you like the cards! I was really glad to put them in the hands of a solid collector and a great guy.
The '67's were really something, having come out of a NM/MT set that I bought a few years ago.

Always happy to help you out with whatever sets are next up for you!

Here's another oddball item, a 1972 Bob Forsch Wedding Baseball Card (w/ Signature) that includes a personal letter from Bob Forsch

Bob Forsch's future Father in law had some "cards" made of Bob and his future wife in a 1971 Topps style showing him with the Arkansas Travelers, whom he played for in 1972. The back shows the future Mrs. Forsch with a baseball stats theme.

Peter---I have always liked that 60 McCovey. They may have come close to doing it in 59.

Default Nice pickups Peter!

You've been busy!

Like the 71 Reggie as it is tough to find centered and with nice black
edges. Yours has both. Drakes Snider too. Good year so far!

Two cards I’ve wanted for a while.

Top quality Berra rookie

I’ve always liked this card due to the star power on it.
