Those are some great choices. The Ruth and Matty are definitely on my list. I'd also include a couple others.

Really tough to narrow down. Seing the T206 Mattys posted and have always loved that dark cap. I'll go back a little further with the Kelly, and its storm clouds.

I always knew you had impeccable taste. Was scrolling to the bottom to see if anyone had posted this card yet.

As for general design I think red 1959 Topps cards are, to this day, what I think of if you say "Picture a baseball card"

I’ve always thought of this card as a work of art.

EDIT: I see it was already posted. Worth seeing twice I think so I’ll leave it up.

Here are some more suggestions that I think are beautiful cards.

Agree with this and many others already posted! Was just about to post mine, feel like this Ruth worth mentioning too. The Cracker Jack Cobb as well.

A pair of black and whites for consideration, maybe not most beautiful , but very striking photos! The D381 Meyers is a really intense and cool image. Also added 1 boxing card that has a really cool image!

The 1941 Playball Bobby Doerr is my favorite. Is he taking a practice cut at spring training or teeing off at the Master’s? It looks like a Norman Rockwell art piece.

Default Some personal favorites....

The T227 Cobb single-handedly drew me into vintage collecting about 10 years ago now.

Agree with tons of what's been listed already, including some sleepers I've always loved ('33 Goudey Richards, etc.). Cards = Art, no question.

I'm a bit surprised that no one has yet nominated a Diamond Stars card.

As for all the cards I pulled out of packs I can't ever top Mantle's 1965 card but a close second are his 1966, 1968, 1969 Topps.
Of all the one's I have bought it is the 1953 Bowman Musial which shows a guy who loved the game. Happy 100th birthday Stan.

By far, the best-looking Mantle card is his 1959 Bazooka card (shown in post #42 above).

I agree that the T205 Cobb is a very nice-looking card! Here are some hockey cards:
