Default Bat Info

I've had this bat for a couple years and got it from a board member. I'd be interested on any information anyone would have regarding this type of bat.
It is 36" long with a flat end. The weight is about 40 ozs. The handle tapers to the knob in a style similar to some 1870s-1880s bats. The circumference of the barrel near the end of the bat is about 7.5 in. The bat also appears to have the initials of a previous owner "burned" into the barrel.
