Default What is the latest word on Graders and Registries

I'm really wanting to hear about the registries from each of the TPG. Is the new CGS(CSG) even going to have one. Nothing has been said that I could find. And Becket's registry is the sickest thing around. Seems to me no uses it, or at least they use it a little while and then stop. And PSA is priced so high I doubt if I ever get to use them again. I'm retired and on fixed lower income. I may sell my PSA cards if I can get some good news on another registry. I liked the way the holders from SGC look, but I don't think the new owners are going to do anything but cart their money to the bank. I read somewhere a while back that said SGC went downhill after Earl left. I dealed with Earl and I believe them going downhill after he left.

Finally, I read some threads here about a month ago. About someone is going to create a registry that will be able to use most all TPG cards. This would be GREAT, as then we could find the best looking card available and not worry about who graded it. Then they were talking about something VCP. I have a lot of time on my hands now, as I'm recovering from a problem falling. Hope I get out of here in a month, but could be 2 or 3 or more.

Thank you for any help.

Brian

First off, best wishes on your recovery, health greater than anything. I also saw the VCP registry post which is a great idea and I also prefer the black apron. I'm not a registry guy and prefer a little privacy with my collection but I recently discovered Flickr so I'm building my own registry which keeps me plenty busy. What I like about it is that I can share my collection with fellow collectors of my choosing which is more important than random strangers viewing it. That's just me though.

Not sure about the new guys. If you are still waiting on a registry from SGC, I think that's the equivalent of Lucy Van Pelt with a football at this point...

Default registries

I'm not waiting for a certain registry, I don't care if it's PSA or SGC or whoever. All I want is a registry I can use, which will be around till I die. If I thought I could, I'd do it myself. I could see the hardest part would be getting cert numbers from everyone and I could see where someone using another's card could be a problem. Here's my best scenario, I am starting on a 1961 Topps baseball set PSA, but I also have 3 SGC cards that look really nice. I want a set I could put all of these in the same set.

I sure wish someone could help me SOON!!!

I guess I should say thanks for letting me vent. I'm afraid whatever PSA decides there long term strategy it's still going to me way out of reach for me to grade. Right now I have 11 61's, 8 60's and 6 various years. I don't see any hope to get the $10 specials ever again.
