OT: The Derby
What are your predictions for winner and longest distance?
Mine, Stanton no doubt for distance (I think around 515+) and he's my best candidate to win. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

They have some good names this year, Frazier, Stanton, Puig, Cespedes and Bautista can all hit bombs. I think Cespedes will win over Stanton and I'm going with Frazier for the longest shot

Joey-Bats looked nuts in BP (I'm here now), but we all have heard stories about Stanton and his prodigious BP's

Puig set a new standard for choking in the HR Derby. Takes away Mike Piazza's title. I think Puig saw ten pitches and he had a check swing, which put him over the top.
Stanton might hit one out of the stadium next round

Stanton crushed the ball. It will be interesting to see if he can actually hit one out of the stadium. After the first round I think he has a chance of doing it.

it sux - a guy with only 1 homer in last two rounds gets to the final.
Reminds me of why almost no one remembers Mourneu won in Yankee Stadium |

I don't know why but I don't like watching Cespedes. To me he is boring to watch.

I wish the HR leaders in the season would participate or at least some of the bigger names. I remember when I was younger and watching Griffey, McGwire, Sosa, and Thomas battle it out. Everyone knew they were the big sluggers and it made it an exciting event.
It's hard to get pumped up for the event when it is a shell of its former self. |
